Modern Tragedy
Modern Tragedy tells two short stories about women on the verge of change. In the first, a housewife with no family tries to leave home and start a new life. In the end, she decides to go back. In the second, a young woman who is about to become a single mother talks to her unborn child in the town where she grew up.

Tenkou Ma is a photographer & creative born in China and currently living and working in Tokyo. Tenkou is drawn to the ways femininity can show up across genders. A small shift in gesture or setting can change how an image feels, bringing out a different kind of beauty or a moment of unexpected humour. Drawing on fashion, music, art, and film, Tenkou creates cinematic images with a sense of story, where fantasy and reality coexist.
